4 Cleanliness Habits to Teach Your Children

An Ounce of Prevention

Teach your kids the importance of good hygiene early with these four healthy habits:

1. If a tissue is handy, cough or sneeze into it and dispose of the tissue. If not, do the "Dracula" cough: cough or sneeze into the crook of your elbow rather than into your hand.

2. Wash hands with warm water and soap before eating or touching the eyes, ears, mouth, or nose, and also when coming in from being outside.

3. Don't share food or drinks with other children.

4. Avoid putting fingers and things like pencils, pens, and erasers in mouths.
