These 4th of July books for kids will get the whole family in a patriotic mood.


Your family’s 4th of July celebrations may look a little different this year with fewer options to choose from on account of the ongoing pandemic. So why not set aside some time during the long weekend to start your own story time tradition? A big blanket, some red, white, and blue snacks, and any of these great children’s 4th of July books about Independence Day and American history are sure to put you all in the patriotic spirit. And—good news—there will still be fireworks this year!

4th of July Books for Ages 3-5

A is for America by Tanya Lee Stone

Introduce your preschooler to important pieces of American history as you explore the alphabet. The Constitution and the Declaration of Independence, Thomas Jefferson and Harriet Tubman. These new ideas to preschoolers are playfully presented in rhyming couplets and colorful illustrations.
