92Y Opens State-Of-The-Art Gymnastics Studio on UES

92Y, on Manhattan's Upper East Side, recently opened a state-of-the-art gymnastics studio. Gymnastics Studio in the Sky now offers gymnastics classes for children with special needs, private lessons, cheerleader tumbling, and birthday parties.

Beginning this September, children in New York City will be able to do gymnastics 14 stories up at 92Y’s Gymnastics Studio in the Sky. The new facility is part of 92Y’s May Center for Health Fitness and Sport, which has offered children’s gymnastics and other sports and fitness options for boys and girls of all ages.

The Gymnastics Studio in the Sky, which has built-in skylights to provide an open, airy gym atmosphere, is equipped with state-of-the-art gymnastics apparatus, including a tumble track and foam pit, uneven bars and single rail bars with adjustable heights, and a series of competitive balance beams for gymnasts of all ages and abilities.  The studio also features a climbing wall, a zip line, a trapeze station, a swinging rope, a filming station for performance evaluation, and an in-house pro shop.

92Y’s new gymnastics studio now offers gymnastics for children with special needs, girls’ and boys’ non-competitive exhibition teams, tumbling for cheerleaders, rhythmic gymnastics, and a 92Y Wonderfit Kids’ Fitness Class, and private lessons—all taught by USGA-certified instructors.
