A Winning Weekend for Tim Morehouse Fencing Club

A Winning Weekend for Tim Morehouse Fencing Club

Tim Morehouse Fencing Club youth champions brought home six medals at the New Jersey Division Denise O’Conner RYC regional 3 event of the New Jersey Fencing Alliance in Maplewood this April.

It was a tournament of firsts for several. Enzo Bera won a silver medal in the Youth-10 boys saber, reaching the finals for the first time, while William Morrill claimed a gold medal and his first Youth-12 RYC. First-year fencers Gabriel Clark and Danny Mangan reached the top 16.

Results didn’t stop there. Sophie Cannon brought home silver in the youth-14 girls saber, while Gabriel McCarthy took bronze in youth-10 boys saber. In the youth-14 boys saber, Justin Morrill earned a top 8 medal and in youth-12 girls saber, Aria Bevacqua took a top 5 medal.

“All of our young fencers had fun and gained valuable experience for the future,” says Tim Morehouse, U.S. Olympic Silver Medalist and owner of the Tim Morehouse Fencing Club in Manhattan and Port Chester. “Our goal is build champions on and off the field of play and while the results are important, these medal winners and their teammates fence with spirit and work hard, support one another and are good sports when they compete."

Fencing is a sport of strategy that engages both mind and body. Tim Morehouse Fencing Club teaches the Olympic sport of saber fencing to competitors of all levels.

A fun-filled fencing summer camp begins in June and is geared towards children ages 6 through 12. To welcome new fencers, the club is offer 50% off the first week for new students. For more information, visit timmorehousefencing.com/summercamp
