Artistic Gymnastics Moves To New Space, Launches Summer Camp

Artistic Gymnastics, a Suffolk gymnastics training center that has been around for 40 years, moves into a brand-new, much bigger, air-conditioned space this summer. The gym is also adding a summer camp in the new space where established students can build their confidence as gymnasts while learning to work together as a team.

Artistic Gymnastics, a Suffolk gymnastics training center that has been around for 40 years, plans to move into a brand-new, much bigger, air-conditioned space this July. From Mommy and Me classes for babies as young as 18 months to intensive training programs for USA Gymnastics regional hopefuls, Artistic Gymnastics offers both recreational and competitive programs for girls 18 and younger.

The gym guarantees a student-teacher ratio of six to one in any class to maximize the time and attention teachers give to each student, and the gym’s four-days-per-week training schedule emphasizes its philosophy that gymnastics should supplement girls’ academic and social lives, rather than overshadow them.

The new space will include a bigger waiting room, air conditioning throughout the gym, a new dance training room, a larger floor for competitions, more beams, a dedicated vaulting pit, and more office space—a much-needed move for the rapidly-growing organization.

The gym is also adding a summer camp in the new space where established students can build their confidence as gymnasts while learning to work together as a team. At Artistic Gymnastics, “it’s about teaching young girls to be strong, well-rounded women, not just about training champions,” says owner Deborah Popolizio. Artistic Gymnastics regularly sends young gymnasts to the highly competitive regional and state Olympic tournaments, taking pride in their success on and off the floor.
