The Bruce Museum's Seaside Center Opens June 23

Anyone can go to the grand opening, no beach pass required.

On June 23, the Bruce Museum's Seaside Center will open for the season in conjunction with Greenwich Shellfish Commission's Experience the Sound event, a family-friendly event that is open to the public–no beach pass required. This is the 13th annual Experience the Sound and attendance is expected to be higher than ever. The event's theme is From Streams Through Soil to Sea. There will be activities for the whole family, like face painting and caricatures, as well as clams and oysters to sample, seaweed to try, and the opportunity to learn about crew, scuba, fishing, and clamming. Volunteers will share information about many sea creatures. The event goes from 1–4pm.

Experience the Sound is put on by the Town of Greenwich's Shellfish Commission, supported by the Greenwich Historical Society and the Greenwich Conservation Commission. Participants can board a boat like the Stella Mar Oyster Boat or the Greenwich Police Boat at the yacht club docks, learning how to rent canoes or paddle boards from Greenwich Community Sailing, and learn about environmental conservation from several community partners who will be at the event. After June 23, the Bruce Museum will be open to visit all season.
