Want to know how ballerinas dance on their toes or spin in place without getting dizzy? Curious about how many years of training it takes to become a ballet dancer? Those questions and more will be answered at Beauty of Ballet, when the world-famous School of American Ballet (the official academy of the New York City Ballet) returns to Queens Theatre for its second year to introduce children to—you guessed it—the beauty of ballet. A member of the school’s faculty and advanced students will illustrate how talented youngsters develop into accomplished classical ballet dancers. They will present examples of advanced classroom training exercises and excerpts from notable classical ballets like The Nutcracker and The Sleeping Beauty. Suggested for ages 4 and older. FREE!
