The Student Council of Vincent Smith School in Port Washington is proud to commemorate Armed Forces Day (May 19), Memorial Day (May 28) and Flag Day (June 14) by creating an American Flag Field of Honor on the school's front lawn, facing Port Washington Blvd.

Students will begin planting flags on Friday, May 18 and they will remain throughout June. Anyone is welcome to sponsor a flag in honor or memory of family or friends who have served our country or currently serving.

Honorees can also include First Responders such as Police Officers, Firefighters and EMTs. Sponsorships are $10 per flag and the names of honorees and their sponsors (optional) will be listed on the VSS website and Facebook page.

Donations can be made online at or by check to Vincent Smith School, 322 Port Washington Blvd., Port Washington, NY 11050.

The school is located on Port Washington Blvd. between Northern Blvd. and Main St. in Port Washington.

Please help us honor these essential defenders of our country and community by showing your support and gratitude for their service with a Flag of Honor!
