Achieve Martial Arts Moves to Bigger Facility

Achieve Martial Arts Moves to Bigger Facility

Achieve Martial Arts' new facility in Scarsdale allows for more classes and more room for practice.

In January, Achieve Martial Arts moved to a new location in Scarsdale which has allowed for more room for classes and more students. The facility now holds 40 classes per week with approximately 10-15 students in each class, separated by age, starting at 3 years old.

Achieve Martial Arts has been in the Scarsdale area since 2005, and this bigger facility, practically across the street from the previous one, allows for the business to cater to its Scarsdale following. The facility is more high-tech than the old one and provides a larger training area for students' kicks and drills, according to Jason Kim, owner of Achieve Martial Arts.

The program began in 1972, but Kim took over seven years ago. Last year, he decided to change the name from Kang's Martial Arts to its current name Achieve Martial Arts to inspire his students.

"We want all of our students to achieve something when they train with us. Even if it is a minor physical improvement or a boost in confidence. We want the students to get something out of it,” says Kim.

The new facility is also home to the school's competition team which competes in local, state, and national circuits. The team recently returned home from nationals where they won three gold and two silver medals, a huge accomplishment for the Scarsdale area.
