Adventurer’s Park Adds Go-Karts to Family Entertainment Center

Adventurer's Park, a family amusement park in Brooklyn, recently added go-karts to its activities.

Adventurer’s Park, a family entertainment center formerly known as Nellie Bly Park—is kicking off its summer season with go-karting for the whole family.

The all-new attraction opened this month and is great for a family day at the park, says Mark Blumenthal, park manager. “It’s a nice track, and a lot of fun to ride,” he says. Adventurers must be at least 40 inches tall to ride accompanied by an adult, or 48 inches tall to get behind the wheel. Go-karts cost $7 for a single rider, and $12 for a drive with a passenger.

The park, which has been a Brooklyn family fixture for almost 50 years, features 23 rides for kids of all ages. Most rides require park-goers to be at least 32 inches tall. For the Roller Coaster—one of the park’s most popular rides—kids must be at least 42 inches tall to ride alone or 36 inches tall to ride with an adult.

The park also features bumper cars, a merry-go-round, and an 18-hole miniature-golf course. To keep cool on hot summer days, kids can have a splash on the water slide or take a ride on the wet boats. The park also features arcade games, novelties, and classic concessions including pretzels, popcorn, cotton candy, lemonade, and the city’s favorite comfort food—good old hot dogs.

Blumenthal says the amusement park is also a great venue for birthday parties and family and group functions.

Single tickets cost $3.25, a book of 10 tickets costs $28, or a book of 30 tickets costs $70. Rides cost one to two tickets per person. The park is open on weekends at 11am until its first day of full operation on June 12. The park opens at 12pm Monday-Friday through the summer season; closing times are variable. Free parking is available in the rear parking lot.
