The Brooklyn Nets Will Hold Summer Basketball Camps for Kids Throughout NYC

Each camp will teach kids the fundamentals of basketball as well as teamwork and sportsmanship.

The Brooklyn Nets are in their offseason, but they’ll still be playing–by bringing basketball camps to New York City kids throughout the summer. Each camp will teach young basketball players the fundamentals of the game, as well as important skills like teamwork and sportsmanship. All sessions will be structured and operate around a safe player-to-coach ratio. Camps will kick off with the second annual Brooklyn Camp Powered by DRIBBL at Brooklyn Friends in June, where kids in preschool–6th grade will be taught by Nets personnel and DRIBBL coaches. Nets coaches, players, and alumni will be making surprise appearances at different camps through August.

The Brooklyn Nets Basketball Academy will hold sessions throughout July and August for kids between the ages of 6-14 who play basketball at all levels. The first session will run from July 15-19 at the Hebrew Educational Society Center in Canarsie. The second, running from August 5-9, will be held at the Aviator Sports and Events Center, and the third will run at the Hellenic Classical Charter School in South Slope. Players at all three locations will receive a Brooklyn Nets Basketball Academy camp jersey, two tickets to a certain 2019-20 Brooklyn Nets home game, and can win a variety of other Nets prizes throughout their sessions.

The Nets summer camp series will conclude with the Brooklyn Nets Hamptons Camp Powered by DRIBBL at the end of August at the Southampton Town Recreation Center. Campers in preschool–eighth grade will be taught by Nets staff and DRIBBL coaches.

The Brooklyn Nets Basketball Academy is dedicated to helping all athletes achieve fundamental basketball skills, no matter their ability, through elite training techniques and a distinct coaching style. The academy aims to help kids improve physically, grow mentally, and learn leadership skills for success. To register for all Nets camps, visit www.nba.com/nets/basketballacademy.
