Dentist Office in Westbury Now Offers Tours for Kids

Ehrenman & Khan Pediatric Dentistry is now offering dental field trips for young children to tour the office and learn about dental health.

During the visit children are read an age-appropriate book about dentistry and are allowed to “ride the chairs,” according to Dr. Mahnaz Khan, as a lot of times kids get nervous when they first sit in a chair that moves.

Kids can also visit a teeth-brushing station, where they learn to properly brush and floss the teeth by practicing on a puppet. Finally, they are walked through what happens when they visit the dentist and are given a step-by-step explanation of what they can expect.

According to Dr. Khan, this allows children to learn about dental health and visiting the dentist in a non-threatening environment, because they are not at the office for an appointment.

The practice is a full-service pediatric dental practice that, in addition to traditional services, treats children with special needs, offers sedation and hospital dentistry, as well as orthodontics, all in a very kid friendly environment.
