Flushing Town Hall’s 2015 Holiday Events

Flushing Town Hall will be celebrating the holiday season with a series of fun, multicultural events, from concerts to markets and festivals.

One of the main focal points for December is the town hall’s Winter Holiday Festival on Sunday, December 6 from 1-4pm. The festival has special activities for Christmas, Hanukkah, and Kwanzaa. Storytellers will read to children about menorahs and dreidels, along with African traditions. Visitors can also make poinsettias to be donated to a senior citizens center in Queens. The festival costs $5 and is free for members.

There will also be a free Holiday Market from 1-5pm on December 6, where artists based in Queens will be selling their handmade crafts and goods. Visitors can also experience the Holiday Historic House Tour. The tour takes visitors through seven historic sites in Flushing and Corona and costs $25 on the day of; $20 in advance; and $10 for children ages 12 and younger.

Queens is best known for its cultural diversity, and there will be a mix of activities for everyone to enjoy. On Friday, December 11, the Dongrak Performing Arts Group from Korea will be performing a concert called Kkun’s – Master Players at 8pm. The group will demonstrate a buna routine with spinning dishes and other ritual music.
