    Jolirose Cake Shop Opens in Valley Cottage

    Owner, Gilda Burke, opened Jolirose Cake Shop on September 1st in Valley Cottage, NY. The bakery offers all kinds of treats, including cakes, pies, cookies, cupcakes, tarts, brownies and bars. They are also known for their custom cakes.

    Burke started baking when she was home for two weeks taking care of her sick children. Being an “on the go” type of person, she needed something to keep her busy while her kids were recovering. When it came to opening her own shop, Burke looked to a previously owned bakery and was able to take ownership in just a few weeks.

    She creates custom cakes for clients in NYC, Rockland, Westchester and Bergen County. And while she does offer many treats for pick-up in her store, Burke says it’s best to call ahead about cakes, pies, and tarts, to make sure they are in stock. Cookies, cupcakes and other treats are available without calling.

    Custom cakes usually require two to four weeks notice.  To request a custom cake you can visit the store in-person or inquire on the website, http://www.jolirosecakeshop.com.
