Knox Summer Adventures Day Camp Introduces Pedal Go Karts

Knox Summer Adventures day camp is rolling out their newest feature this June: pedal go karts. Kids of all ages will get the chance to go behind the wheel and take a spin around the mini track. The younger campers will have separate karts that are better suited to their age and skill level.

Located on over 30 acres of waterfront property in Stony Brook HArbor, Knox Summer Adventures welcomes kids entering grades K to 10. This year's session will run from June 25 to August 24, for a total of nine weeks, one more week than the average summer camp. The hours are 9am to 3:30pm, Monday to Friday. Campers will receive daily lunches that accommodate any dietary restrictions, as well as snacks, ice pops, and a camp tshirt.

Knox Summer Adventures offers families a customizable camp experience, as parents are able to enroll their children in individual days rather than week-long sessions. This unique feature grants families the flexibility to schedule vacations and other activities without being tied down by camp commitments. A minimum of ten days of enrollment is required.

The camp offers a number of programs, including a traditional day camp, a travel program, and a Counselor in Training certificate program. The day camp is open to kids entering grades K to 6, and campers can participate in a slew of indoor and outdoor activities including sports, swimming in the camp pool, and kayaking on the harbor.

In travel camp, kids entering grades 7 to 10 venture out three days a week in addition to participating in day camp fun. This summer, travel campers can expect trips to ountain Creek Waterpark, the World Trade Center, and an overnight trip to Six Flags. The cost of overnight trips may not be included in tuition fees.

"The main draw of camp is the experience we are able to give kids," says Nic Dezenzo, director of summer programs at Knox Summer Adventures. "We want kids to get out of their comfort zone, and to do it with kids who will become their longtime friends."
