Museum of Candy Is Coming to New York City

Museum of Candy Is Coming to New York City

Sweeeeet!

Sugar Factory will be opening a 30,000-square-foot Musuem of Candy in the Flatiron District of Manhattan, this summer.

The museum will occupy the former Limelight nightclub location and will offer edible candy murals and a make-your-own-dessert station. There will also be 15 interactive, candy-themed rooms, a dessert marketplace, a sit-down eatery and a café.

Visitors will get a glimpse of how candy was made and a glimpse into the industry dating all the way back to 1900.

"The idea to create a Museum of Candy originated from the imagination of my inquisitive children and my own personal dreams about a magical candy land,” Sugar Factory founder, Charissa Davidovici said in a statement. “We also drew inspiration from all of our guests at Sugar Factory taking pictures at our life-size Candy Dot wall and with our over-the-top food and drinks. New York City is the perfect location to open our first museum, it’s the epicenter of entertainment—we can’t wait to share this concept worldwide.”

Of course no museum is complete without a gift shop. The Museum of Candy will offer a 5,000-square-foot marketplace which will consist of more than 20 vendors and confectioners entertaining guests with dessert demonstrations and a wide selection of candy sold by the pound.

There will also be two dining options: a grab-and-go café which will provide coffee drinks and snacks. There will also be a 150-seat restaurant serving burgers and fries, among other items.

Check the Museum of Candy website for an official opening date.
