NYSCI Unveils New Exhibition and Events

New York Hall of Science in Flushing Meadows-Corona Park announces a new science-fiction exhibit and family-friendly events.

New York Hall of Science
is a hands-on, educational science museum located in Flushing Meadows-Corona Park. NYSCI has an array of exhibits as well as activities, events, and more.

Starting Feb. 4, NYSCI will host an exhibition called Science Fiction, Science Future. The temporary exhibit uses robots, holograms, and augmented reality to explore how science-fiction ideas might become the reality of tomorrow. The exhibition is free with museum admission and runs through April 30.

NYSCI also offers special events throughout the year, such as Engineering Week, Feb. 20-25, during which a variety of engineering concepts will be covered, from 3D printing prosthetics to solving urban risks with geoseismic engineering. The activities will be run by the American Society of Civil Engineers.

And in April, Brick Fest Live, the ultimate Lego experience, is back for one weekend only—April 8-9. Take the kids to see the creative Lego sculptures and then make your own creations using Legos.

For more events, such as a performance by singer, songwriter, dancer, and choreographer Sbongiseni Duma, or Bug Day in June, visit NYSCI online.

Founded at the 1964-65 World’s Fair, NYSCI caters to passionate learners, critical thinkers, and imaginative explorers through an approach called Design-Make-Play. It presents 450 exhibits, demonstrations, workshops, and participatory activities focused on presenting information about science, technology, engineering, and math in a hands-on, energetic way. NYSCI has outdoor seasonal exhibits, a Science Playground, and Rocket Park Mini Golf.
