One River School Presents Local Artist Illustration Exhibition

One River School Presents Local Artist Illustration Exhibition

From Dec. 8-Dec. 31, One River School of Art & Design will be showcasing a dynamic array of illustration art by six local artists in the exhibition "Picture This! Contemporary Illustration." These artists, Claire Widman, Darren "Mouse" Mosley, Kendra Shedenhelm, Chris Szabo, Amalia Hoffman, and Daniel Weiss, demonstrate their technical skills in creating both real and imaginary worlds through different aesthetics and mediums. Storytelling is the root of their illustrations, so bring the whole family to explore the worlds they have created and let your imaginations run rampant.

The use of storytelling through illustrations dates back to cave paintings, which described experiences in pictures like the hunt of a bison or the creation of fire. More contemporary examples are comics and graphic novels, where illustrations are used to assist in furthering the plot. Take a break from today's fast-paced art found in online gaming and social media by studying the details in this exhibit.

The opening reception will occur on Dec. 8 from 6-8pm at One River School of Art & Design. You can meet artists, staff, and explore the gallery. Light refreshments will be served. To RSVP, visit the One River School of Art & Design website
