Shopping in Riverdale
While Riverdale isn't known for its many shopping options, there’s enough to keep the kids entertained and to even pick up a few gifts. There’s a Kidville, which not only sells unique kids toys and clothes in its boutique, but also offers a bunch of classes for babies, toddlers and older kids. There's also Magnum Comics, which, obviously, is a comic book shop—who can resist those? (They also sell toys, costumes and collectible cards.) DJ Drugs is a “ma and pa” drugstore that carries educational toys and cute gifts. And be sure to browse the fashions and accessories at Scruples, which sells women’s and men’s apparel as well as beautiful children’s clothes. They carry many European lines for youngsters, including Bulicca.
Restaurants in Riverdale
The cuisine in Riverdale is fantastic. Don’t forget, the Bronx has a very rich history and is home to people of many different races and ethnicities, which, in any major metropolis, generally results in some incredibly tasty cultural foods and family-owned and operated restaurants. If you want traditional dessert to soothe your sweet teeth, head over to the Menchies for some frozen yogurt and a plethora of yummy toppings. Although it’s a chain, there aren’t many Menchie’s in Manhattan, so take advantage of the one here! For baked dessert goods, Corner Café is absolutely scrumptious—they’re known for having some drool-worthy chocolate rugalach. It’s also a restaurant, so you can head there for breakfast, lunch, and dinner; they also carry ice cream, cookies, and a variety of soups, pasta dishes, pizza, paninis and more. Tin Marin offers delicious tapas and encourages guests to bring the whole family. Metate is a go-to Mexican restaurant in town; and you can never go wrong by hitting up one of the many diner’s Riverdale has, either! Enjoy your visit!
