New York Therapy Placement Services Re-Launches Saturday Program

New York Therapy Placement Services, which offers a variety of therapy services for kids in Port Jefferson including speech, occupational, and physical therapy, will re-launch its Saturday sensory motor and social skills groups for children.

With activities like the ball pit, kids can have fun
while working on their sensory motor and social skills.

New York Therapy Placement Services is re-launching their Saturday therapy program for kids. The program is a sensory motor and social skills group for children of varied abilities. “We want kids to know they are coming to a fun playtime and at the same time they are getting sensory integration and social interaction,” says parent liaison Monica Nichols.

The sensory gym includes swings, treadmills, trampolines, and sensory tables, which kids can play with while engaging socially. Obstacle courses are also set up so kids can experience everything the gym has to offer.

“It pumps them to interact socially,” Nichols says. “They high-five their friend at the end and say, ‘Good job!’”

NYTPS Kids is a full-service therapy facility offering speech, occupational, and physical therapies, behavior intervention, special education, and social work services. The sensory gym and speech and language center are included in the facility.

Lauren Fromberg, a certified special educator and parent, will teach Saturday therapy classes. Fromberg intends to hone in on children’s social interactions, so kids have fun but also learn how to play.
