Scarsdale Medical Welcomed New Pediatrician

Scarsdale Medical Welcomed New Pediatrician

The new doctor’s clinical interests include ADHD and pediatric infectious diseases.

In May, Scarsdale Medical welcomed a new pediatrician, Olamide Odubogun, MD, FAAP, as part of the practice's pediatric expansion efforts. Dr. Odubogun earned his undergraduate degree from Loyola University Maryland and has his medical degree from Pennsylvania State, and completed his residency at Yale New Haven Children's Hospital. Dr. Odubogun's clinical interests include newborn care, asthma management, ADHD, pediatric infectious diseases, and pediatric nephrology.

Dr. Odubogun's skill set diversifies the practice and gives more breadth and depth to the pediatrics department, according to Kim Carriere, Scarsdale Medical's chief operating officer.

One of Scarsdale's other pediatric doctors is going on maternity leave soon, so bringing in Dr. Odubogun worked out to the practice's advantage. Besides Dr. Odubogun, the practice has also brought in a new dermatologist, a new infectious diseases specialist, a new internal medicine doctor, and a new neurologist. All of these additions are designed to expand the help Scarsdale Medical can offer children and parents, according to Carriere.

Scarsdale Medical was established more than 60 years ago. It has been affiliated with White Plains Hospital for three years, Carriere says, which is “a wonderful partnership that will continue to grow.”

Carriere offers five health tips to parents during back to school season:

1.  Get the kids back into a routine as soon as possible.

2. Get their physicals, eye examinations, and vaccinations sooner rather than later.

3. Give them a healthy breakfast each morning

4. Teach them good hygiene habits

5. Encourage them to stay hydrated

Carriere says all of these practices will help your kids have the healthiest school year yet!
