School of Rock, a music school for children of all ages, recently opened a location in Brooklyn. School of Rock takes a performance-based approach to teaching music, so students can confidently take their music from the classroom to the stage.

“School of Rock is unique because of the community we build here,” says owner Mike Addesso, who has been with School of Rock since 2007 and has many years of experience teaching and performing music. “We have a very experienced and talented staff, and this program is effective at both a local and international level.”

There are more than 130 School of Rock locations around the world, and the students and teachers pride themselves on the small and large communities formed within the schools.

School of Rock offers a variety of music programs, including Rock101, Performance, and adult programs. The classes require a 3-hour weekly rehearsal, and one 45-minute private lesson. This helps the students grow as a performer, and as an individual. This summer, the Brooklyn location will also offer summer camps. The camps are themed, including Rock101 Camp, The Beatles Camp, Led Zeppelin Camp, and song writing and recording camp. Each camp session runs for five days, from 9am-3pm, except the song writing and recording camp, which will run for 10 days.
