A Sesame Street Podcast is Coming to Audible in October

Audible and Sesame Workshop are teaming up to launch a first-of-its-kind Sesame Street Podcast, hosted by a new character named Foley and her sidekick Mikee the Microphone.

Audible Inc., the world’s largest producer and provider of spoken-word entertainment and audiobooks, and Sesame Workshop, the nonprofit organization behind Sesame Street, announced the launch of an original Sesame Street podcast, hosted by a new Sesame Street character, Foley. The podcast is the first of its kind, with new original music, interactive games, jokes, and visits from Sesame Street favorites like Elmo, Big Bird, and Cookie Monster in every episode.

The Sesame Street Podcast with Foley & Friends is geared toward preschool listeners and will release exclusively on Audible on Thursdays, Oct. 15. Episodes will release Tuesdays and Thursdays and the series will include 15 episodes.

“Sesame Workshop has been one of the most respected names in family entertainment for over 50 years, and we’re honored to bring this unique Sesame Street podcast to listeners,” said Rachel Ghiazza, executive vice president, head of US content at Audible. “Audible offers immersive audio entertainment for a wide array of listeners, and we’re thrilled to expand our children’s content with this exceptional release. The Sesame Street Podcast with Foley & Friends delivers what parents need most now: educational entertainment that little ones will love, guaranteed.”

The Sesame Street Podcast with Foley & Friends will provide high-quality, educational family entertainment like jokes, songs, and visits with guests from the Sesame Street community. Each episode is 15-minutes and will revolve around preschool-friendly topics like vehicles, birthdays, and the alphabet. Look out for Elmo’s Joke of the Day, a podcast game show, original songs, and beloved, classic Sesame Street songs like The Letter of the Day. The host Foley is new to Sesame Street and kids will love her energetic and silly personality, the silly sound effects she loves to make, and her sidekick Mikee the Microphone.

Sesame Workshop has continued to produce family-friendly digital content for your kids to enjoy and learn from throughout the pandemic. We’ve turned to Sesame Street when learning how to cope with coronavirus anxiety and the unprecedented challenges we’re all facing today, when we had coronavirus questions, when we want to learn about racism, respect, and inclusion, when we wanted to learn how to meditate, and for a way to make bedtime fun.

“As families’ media habits evolve, Sesame Workshop is ready to meet them wherever they are with engaging content that sparks playful learning. Together with Audible, we’re creating a rich audio-only world that will come to life in kids’ imaginations,” said Scott Chambers, Sesame Workshop’s senior vice president/general manager, Educational Media and Licensing, North America. “We can’t wait for our friends at home to explore the sounds of Sesame Street in a whole new way. Welcome to the neighborhood, Foley!”
