Brooklyn-Based Speech Buddies Launches Online Marketplace

Speech Buddies Connect is an online marketplace that connects families with children with speech issues, newborn to 18 years old, with local speech professionals. Focused on Brooklyn but soon to expand into other NYC areas, Speech Buddies Connect believes that speech, language development, and communication are imperative to children’s overall health.

Speech Buddies was launched by practicing speech-language pathologist, Gordy Rogers, M.S., and an accomplished product designer, Alexey Salamini, who were frustrated by the lack of specialized technology in the field. Together they set out to design special speech-development tools. Starting with just five tool models, each specially designed to treat particular articulation issues, the success of Speech Buddies has lead to expansion into therapy practice and games that compliment work being done in speech therapists’ offices, in a fun and beneficial way.

By creating easy access to speech therapists, Speech Buddies aids early problem identification that leads to best learning outcomes for children. Speech Buddies expands its original mission to provide treatment options and platforms that improve the lives of those living with speech and communication disorders.
