Stamford Fencing Center Now Offering Competition Training

As of January 2016, Stamford Fencing Center started offering a Competition Program for kids that are serious about fencing. This program is exclusively for athletes who wish to participate in competitive fencing. Tournaments are twice a month, regionally and across the country.

Students who enroll in the new elite training program usually have at least one year of training. They are expected to train at least three times a week at the Center, between group classes and private lessons. The competitive program costs a flat fee, and covers up to 25 weeks of training.

Stamford Fencing Center offers programs for kids that include recreational and competitive training programs. For children who are interested in learning a new sport, fencing is a unique and fun option. Fencing has the highest recruitment rate of all collegiate sports for students, and there are ample opportunity for fencers to be recruited to top universities and colleges, says Alex Fotiyev, owner of Stamford Fencing Center and a co-author of Saber Fencing for Kids.

Stamford Fencing Center also has a new summer camp this year. Open to every level from beginners to advanced fencers. This clinic will be led by head coach Oleg Tretyak, the National Ukrainian Team coach at the 2000 Sydney Olympic games. The summer camp is an intensive program designed to rapidly accelerate technical development for young fencers.
