Times Square Ball Drop 2023 New Year’s Eve

Times Square Ball Drop 2023 New Year’s Eve

Both in-person and at-home audiences will enjoy watching the New Year’s ball drop in Times Square.

With another challenging year behind us, New York—along with the world—is ready to ring in 2023 with the traditional Times Square ball drop 2023 ceremony. This year's event is back in person and will take place at 1 Times Square, Dec. 31, 6pm, to Jan. 1, 2023, 12:15am.

The Times Square Alliance is inviting New Yorkers and tourists back to the Crossroads of the World to watch the world-famous ball dropping on New Year’s Eve. Currently, the city does not have COVID requirements for outdoor events such as the New Year's event ceremony.

Taking center stage is the sparkling Waterford Crystal Times Square New Year's Eve Ball, which has been the tradition at the event for over 20 years. Part of the yearly tradition includes replacing 192 of the 2,688 Waterford Crystal triangles on the Ball with designs from the yearly “Greatest Gifts” collection. This year’s “Gift of Love” design will be included next to the past nine designs and last year’s “Gift of Wisdom” pattern.

“The anticipation for this year's New Year’s Eve celebrations is greater than ever before and gathering with friends and family for those intimate moments are not being taken for granted,” Tom Brennan, master craftsman and spokesperson for Waterford Crystal, said. “With Waterford’s 'Gift of Love' collection, we hope it inspires everyone to see 2023 as an opportunity for a fresh start and full of potential, and we’re grateful the iconic Waterford Crystal Times Square New Year’s Eve Ball will be part of your special moments together.”

The highly anticipated ceremony will also be broadcast for television and streamed for internet audiences. You can visit TimesSquareNYC.org to enjoy the live commercial-free webcast from your computer or mobile device. If you have the Livestream app on your mobile device, you can also use that to connect to the webcast.

Jonathan Bennett, actor and TV personality, will return to the celebration as Times Square New Year's Eve Host. Bennett will be joined by live event and celebrity interview host, Jeremy Hassell, who will serve as co-host.
