As a walk-in clinic for members of the community,
Westport Urgent Care offers quality health care for all ages. First opened in 2012, the urgent care facility provides diagnosis and treatment of non-life threatening illnesses and injuries along with occupational medicine services, physicals, digital X-rays, and vaccines.
The clinic held a ribbon-cutting ceremony in October to celebrate the official re-opening and to welcome a new addition to the team.
Brian Baxt, M.D., who is a board-certified physician with 19 years of experience in emergency medicine, joined Westport Urgent Care in September. The Yale-trained physician—who has worked as an emergency room doctor at Bridgeport Hospital for more than a decade—is no stranger to the notoriously lengthy ER wait times has found a refreshing change of pace at the walk-in clinic. “From what I have seen so far, patients are usually able to see a doctor in less than 10 minutes,” says Dr. Baxt, who describes the quality of care as “quick, clean, and friendly.”
No appointments are necessary at the clinic, which sees all manner of the walking wounded. The experienced staff is well equipped to treat all kinds of maladies, from the flu, to broken bones, to ear infections and stomach viruses. “As long as you can drive yourself to the clinic, we can handle whatever you bring in,” Dr. Baxt says.
Now under new management, the clinic hopes to continue to provide affordable, quick, and convenient medical care to Westport as well as surrounding communities.
The clinic, which accepts most major insurances, is open Monday-Friday, 8am-8pm and Saturday and Sunday, 9am-4pm.
