Lego to Create a Women of NASA Set

UPDATE, Oct. 18, 2017: The Women of NASA set will officially go on sale on Nov. 1, 2017 just in time for the holiday season, according to Lego Ideas. The recommended retail price is $24.99.

Just in time for Women's History Month and the Oscar-nominated movie Hidden Figures, Lego has announced that it will be releasing a new set of products called Women of NASA to honor women who paved the way in STEM professions, according to Lego.

The set of five minifigures will include Katherine Johnson, mathematician and space scientist, real-life subject of Hidden Figures, and honoree at this year’s Oscars awards; Margaret Hamilton, computer scientist and software developer for the Apollo missions to the moon; Sally Ride, an astronaut, physicist, and educator, and the first American woman in space; Nancy Grace Roman, astronomer known as the “Mother of Hubble” for her role in planning the Hubble Space Telescope; and Mae Jemison, an astronaut, physician, and entrepreneur, and the first African-American woman in space.
