In all of our activities, we teach children how to ask great questions and how to wonder out loud. Every day provides opportunities to create new things and imagine. At Destination Science, we use science to prepare your child for life!
KIDS LOVE IT! We’re safe, non-stop fun, so kids can’t wait to go every day! We comb the globe every year searching for fun, child friendly materials that captivate & engage campers into the world of science. Our projects are innovative & diverse and best of all campers get to take home all of their creations.
DS IS REALLY GOOD FOR KIDS! Parents love that our fun-filled programs make positive, powerful differences in their children—giving life-long value! Our program is meticulously designed to use fun science as a tool to grow terrific skills for everyday life, including: PERSISTENCE, COOPERATION, CREATIVITY AND ESPECIALLY…CURIOSITY!
STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) learning is more important than ever before. It has become a national movement. At Destination Science, we say “Science is a Way of Thinking!” When we know how to “do” science, we know how to be creative, critical, and organized thinkers and problem solvers. STEM is the educational backbone we use at Destination Science to keep our campers engaged in the world of science. By combining these four disciplines, we’re able to ensure that every student leaves camp with a new sense of empowerment, critical thinking, creative skills, and a collaborative mindset in solving problems.
Highly enthusiastic teachers provide mature, professional leadership! They love seeing kids have fun while learning and exploring. Teaming up with these teachers are carefully selected university students with strong interests and abilities to lead and motivate young people. All of our staff are personally interviewed, background screened, and receive professional training to deliver our program with excellence and enthusiasm.
Kids take home all the projects & toys they build themselves to keep the fun and learning going long after camp is done! Campers love sharing with friends & family what they made & the science behind it.
PERSISTENCE, COOPERATION, CREATIVITY AND ESPECIALLY…CURIOSITY! NEW FRIENDS! Destination Science is a warm, wonderful environment where kids feel comfortable making connections with others! Parents tell us that their child loves that everyone at camp shares the idea that it is cool to be smart!
We make it fun and easy for kids to be excited, curious & confident about science! Children appreciate and value the wonder of the world around them and take better care of it now, and as adults. Developing curiosity makes kids lifelong learners about everything.
We develop creativity, imagination, and the emotional intelligence needed to collaborate and develop great relationships with others. Our activities, teach kids how to ask great questions and how to wonder. We have special time every day for games and activities where children work with others to solve fun challenges and problems.
Campers will have their interest sparked in ways that motivate them to study science with confidence and enthusiasm. Encouraging kids to consider careers in science, engineering, and technology. The imaginative thinking that we develop is also necessary in design, art, music, and other creative fields. That’s good for them, and good for the world.
A typical day at camp includes both indoor and outdoor science activities, outdoor games, and one super-fun rally! After checking in and getting the day started, we’ll start with our first science station of the day, this activity includes a long-term project that will be completed by Friday. From there, we grab our snack and head outside to experience some outside action. Some of our outside activities include games with a SPLASH, so be prepared for some watery fun!
Next up…Engineering 2018! Campers will work in small teams to design creative solutions to fun challenges. Followed by lunch & fun group games. We will round out the day with our third exciting science station until it is time to say goodbye at 3:00, where we wrap up the lessons of the day and get ready for a whole new day of science tomorrow!
At Destination Science, we’ve designed our camp themes for kids ages 5 to 11. In order for everyone to get the attention they deserve, we only have 14 to a group, separated by ages, so typically the five and six-year-olds work as a team, the seven and eight-year-olds group up, and those nine and older learn together.
Our camps are held Monday through Friday, from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm., during the summer beginning in early June and run through August. Each camp location has it’s own unique scheduling dates, so check your local listings for your particular camp’s details. All campsites will be closed on July 4th.
Our morning Extended Care lasts from 8:00am to 9:00 am and is $30 per week. Our after-camp Extended Care lasts from 3:00 pm to 5:00 or 5:30 pm (varies by location) and costs $65 per week. NOTE: You must register in advance to take advantage of these offers.
Afternoons in the summer can get hot, so we play games designed us cool us off. Games that include a SPLASH of water. Kids do not need to wear or bring swim suits or towels, but occasionally your child may come home a little damp.
It just wouldn’t be camp without the fun of Camp Spirit Days!
