Holy Child Academy is a premier, independent Catholic school for children of all faiths, from toddler through eighth grade. Our exceptional teachers provide an intellectually challenging and creative program of study that develops the unique talents of each child and fosters a love for learning. We nurture the spirit while challenging the mind. Located on a beautiful 14-acre wood campus with acres of playing fields, our school is accredited by the Middle States Association and National Association of Independent Schools.
The school’s Catholic heritage and its curriculum give Holy Child Academy a distinctive place among Long Island’s independent schools. We remain true to our mission to help children discover God in their lives and emphasize that learning about God can increase one's joy all lifelong. Each student is gently guided spiritually, morally, and ethically throughout their Holy Child journey. They experience compassion and mercy firsthand, through our on-going community service and outreach projects.
Our educational principles are based on those of educational pioneer Cornelia Connelly, who stated: “Children learn best in an atmosphere of love and warmth, and the teacher-student relationship should be modeled on that of the parent and child.” Our creative educators help each child develop a joy for learning by seamlessly integrating a traditional curriculum with technology, fine arts, music, theater, and athletics. Music, visual arts, performing art, foreign languages, and physical education are required and enjoyed by all. Three season after-school interscholastic sports teams are offered for fifth-eighth grades and intramural sports for third and fourth grades. State-of-the-art technology is in our classrooms, library, and technology center.
Holy Child Academy employs a joyful whole-child approach to mind, body, and spirit that integrates fine and performing arts, music, and exercise daily. Our average class size of 14 honors the learning style of each child and allows for individualized instruction. We offer a variety of enriching after-school clubs, such as yoga, robotics, music lessons, and many more, that foster each child's interest and love of learning. Students graduate from our beautiful wooded campus as happy, responsible, and compassionate young adults, ready to excel in high school and beyond.
At Holy Child Academy, we offer both before- and after-care programs for working parents. Families come from the towns of Brookville, Carle Place, East Williston, Garden City, Glen Cove, Hicksville, Huntington, Manhasset, Mineola, Old Westbury, Port Washington, Syosset and many more areas.
