Musical Munchkins
Since our beginning in 1982, Musical Munchkins has received high acclaim, delighting Westchester toddlers and pre-schoolers as they explore their natural musical abilities. Imagine! A quarter century of bringing happy music classes to our Westchester families! As co-creator and director of Musical Munchkins, it is still my greatest pleasure to see the delighted face of a baby as she captures the beat for the very first time, or of a 2 year old as he marches proudly, knowing he heard that marching sound on his own! Whether you have a baby 6 months old or a child that is 4 years old, you'll find that we've designed an age appropriate class tailored to meet your child's abilities and needs. Step by step and age by age, our curriculum gently builds skills. By connecting to children with warmth and great fun, our teachers help your child learn the fundamentals and the joy of music. So welcome if you are new and welcome back to our budding musicians...we'll see you in music class!
Music Parties for Toddlers, Babies, Preschoolers at Musical Munchkins
A good old time guaranteed! Our experienced, well trained musicians (all Musical Munchkins teachers as well) will lead your little partiers through dancing, drumming, singing, and pretend plays with dancing scarves, shakers, props and puppets! Ideal, engaging entertainment for children under 6! You provide the site, and we will provide the entertainment.
Musical Munchkins Classes
Our classes include singing, chanting, playing instruments and dancing along with musical stories, books and assorted props to encourage active participation. Our little musicians are exposed to many music styles; beloved standards, international, American heritage and more! Classes meet once weekly for 45 minutes. Classes are age specific, allowing us to meet and nurture each age groups development and capabilities: Babies curriculum, Music For 1’s, Music for 2’s, Music for 3’s/4’s
Meet the Director of Musical Munchkins
Eileen Oddo celebrates 37 years as co-founder of Musical Munchkins. With degrees in piano performance and piano pedagogy from Loyola University and Conservatoire de Cachan in France, Eileen is uniquely qualified to understand the steps from early childhood to success on an instrument. Eileen has received wide recognition as an early childhood professional because of her finely-honed, sensitive approach to each stage, from 6 months to 6 years. Eileen has lectured at local, state, and national educational conferences and publishes books and recordings under the Musical Munchkins label.
