NYMetroParents Wins 10 Awards for Magazine and Web Excellence!

NYMetroParents Wins 10 Awards for Magazine and Web Excellence!

I had the pleasure of attending my first conference of the Parenting Media Association this past weekend, and came away with more than just good learnings from the speakers and discussions there: NYMetroParents.com and our print magazines won 10 of the Parenting Media Association’s 2015 Design & Editorial Awards!

I am so proud of everyone who made these awards possible and who ensure that we're producing the very best work possible every day, in print and digital. Our entire staff works hard to bring you, the readers of our magazine and website, the very best information and news every day, resources that we hope help you make better decisions on behalf of your kids.

Here is the list of the categories for which we won:

1) Website General Excellence for the NYMetroParents.com website.

2) Best Use of Social Media for our Facebook engagement. (If you’re not following us yet, like us today and see what you’re missing!)

3) Overall Writing for the quality of our features and departments month after month.

4) Non-Traditional Story Form, for our 100 Days of Summer feature

5) Q&A Interview for our monthly question-and-answer column, including this conversation with former WWE champion Mark Mero.

6) Personal Essay for our Voices feature, including this heart-breaking meditation on loss.

7) Travel Feature for our article on visiting Disney World and Sesame Place.

8) Special Section Within a Publication for our Special Parent section that addressed questions of finances and legal planning for families of kids with special needs.

9) Family Fun Column for our monthly Outing feature, including this visit to Diggerland USA

10) Briefs/Short Stuff for our New Places, New Programs feature that highlights local businesses in all the communities we cover.

It was thrilling and humbling to hear our name called out again and again to come up receive awards. Many congratulations to our editorial team, writers, designers, and everyone else who helps make our publications and digital products award worthy!
