With spring plants popping up all over the borough, your kids will likely want to plant some foliage of their own. That’s where Alley Pond Environmental Center’s Free Tree Day comes into play. The center will give away 150 free trees—one per household—to NYC residents on a first come, first served basis on April 1. Pick up your tree, cart it home, and start your own green space. With spring just beginning and the Easter Bunny gearing up to hide his eggs, families have plenty of opportunities to get outside and enjoy the fresh air this month. April 7: The Queens County Farm Museum's Easter Egg Hunt includes egg tossing and rolling games, a bunny hop dance, and a photo opportunity with Whiskers the Bunny. Click for details

April 7-8: During the Spring Eggstravaganza at the Queens Zoo, kids can scour the grounds for colorful eggs hidden by the crafty zoo keepers, take a photo with the Easter Bunny, and participate in spring-themed arts and crafts projects.
