While it is based on the familiar story, this version playing at Theatre Three is told completely in song and verse and its message focuses on race relations and the homeless.

What happens when a little boy hunts and traps butterflies only to find out his net is too full? Find out when author Michelle Zimmerman reads from her book, Can’t Catch a Butterfly at the Ward Mellville Heritage Organization. After the story, children enjoy a cup of cocoa and make a craft.

Special Movies for Special Kids

AMC theaters across the country have dedicated one day each month to creating a comfortable environment in which audience members with autism and/or sensory disorders can watch a current movie. The lights stay up in the theater, the sound is turned down, and audience members are invited to get up and dance, walk, shout, or sing. This month’s film is Dr. Seuss’s The Lorax.
