Kent Prep Now Offering SSAT and ISEE Prep in Small Group Sessions

Well known for its one-on-one tutoring services, Kent Prep launched small group sessions to help students in both its Queens and Manhattan locations prepare for the Secondary School Admission Test and the Independent School Entrance Exam. Each group has no more than 5 students and is organized by exam type, age and level of proficiency. Instructors are certified test specialists with at least 5 years of experience.

As Ivy-league hopefuls, rising high school freshmen, and parents of students at every age know, the admissions process can be a terrifying challenge. Enter Kent Prep. Since its founding in 1989, it has equipped students to master the entire academic admission experience, from selecting a school to completing its application.

A wide variety of services are offered across its three locations in Flushing, Manhattan and Purchase, including consultations for college- and high school-bound students and their families, entrance exam tutoring sessions, full-length mock tests and a four-week SAT, ACT and SSAT summer residential program in Manhattanville College. Participants of Kent Prep can also take advantage of its robust alumni network, which spans across some of the country’s top schools and universities.

Though entrance exams may be a necessary, albeit scary, part of the admissions process, with small group tutoring, Kent Prep students do not have to undergo it alone.

Program Manager Sharon Kim has noticed a number of advantages to the small group sessions. Not only does being in a group environment allow for healthy competition, but working alongside each other helps students motivate and learn from one another, especially in the essay portion of exams.

“We’re looking forward to them meeting their scores so that they can enter school together,” says Kim.
