Kids Food Fest 2017 to be Held at Westfield World Trade Center in Tribeca

Bring your kids to Tribeca Aug. 26-27 for a weekend of family-focused foodie fun!

Calling all pint-sized foodies: The Kids Food Festival recently announced that its 2017 summer event will be held at the Oculus Plaza at Westfield World Trade Center in Tribeca. The festival, which is entering its seventh year, is a weekend long celebration that aims to educate families about making balanced food choices and creating lifelong eating habits for kids and their parents.

The Kids Food Fest, in collaboration with the James Beard Foundation and Westfield, will feature a variety of family-friendly activities. Future chefs will have to opportunity to take hands-on cooking classes in the James Beard Foundation Future Foodies Pavilion—past classes have included camp cooking with the Boy Scouts, a meatball and pasta class with Daniel Holzman of The Meatball Shop, and cupcake decorating with Carlo’s Bakery. Other family-friendly activities include food demos, music and performances, food samplings, giveaways, and The Balanced Plate Scavenger Hunt for kids with goodie bag prizes.

While the full lineup and schedule of events are yet to be announced, we can tell you Elizabeth Falkner, who has appeared on Iron Chef America, among other Food Network shows, will make an appearance, along with chefs from Epicerie Boulud, Eataly, Bouchon Bakery and Per Se, and MasterChef Junior season 5 contestants Cyndey, Eddie, Donovan, and Peyton. Plus, you’ll have a chance to see performances by FunkiJam, Miffy, and characters from The Lego Ninjago Movie

Kids Food Fest 2017 will be held Aug. 26-27, Saturday-Sunday, from 10am-4pm. General admission is free, but tickets must be purchased for the hands-on cooking classes (available on the festival’s website).
