‘The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’ Partners with Carnegie Deli to Bring Pop-Up Diner Experience to NYC Dec. 1-8

The proceeds from ‘The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’ and Carnegie Deli pop-up will benefit the Lower Eastside Girls Club.

Amazon Prime Video is bringing back the iconic Carnegie Deli as a pop-up dining experience from Dec. 1-8 in Nolita in honor of the second season of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (available for streaming via Amazon Prime on Friday, Dec. 5). This one-of-a-kind, family-friendly pop-up restaurant will transport diners back to the 1950s, from the décor to the menu items and prices (sandwiches for $0.99!), to reflect Midge Maisel’s New York City. And with the vintage cars that will be parked outside The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Carnegie Deli pop-up, it’s a perfect Instagramable dining experience with your kids!

In partnership with the owners of the original Carnegie Deli, which closed in 2016 after 79 years of serving up pastrami on rye sandwiches to New Yorkers, the pop-up deli will serve original sandwiches named after the show’s beloved characters. And don’t forget dessert: NYC staples, such as cheesecake and black-and-white cookies, will be on the menu to finish your meal in classic New York style. As with the show, the star of the menu will be The Maisel, a sandwich made with Carnegie pastrami, salami, coleslaw, and special sauce on rye bread.

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel firmly established itself in the pop culture landscape with the iconic and groundbreaking Midge at the center of the Emmy Award-winning series, and we wanted to transport our viewers into her world with an of-the-era experience,” said Mike Benson, head of marketing of Prime Video. “We’re thrilled to bring back the iconic, beloved New York institution that is the Carnegie Deli to celebrate the upcoming season and immortalize Midge’s character through the comedic tradition of a namesake sandwich.”

The cherry on top of this Mrs. Maisel sundae—or perhaps the secret sauce to top of the pastrami sandwich? Prime Video will donate all proceeds from The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Carnegie Deli pop-up to The Lower Eastside Girls Club, a safe haven for middle and high school girls that aims to break the cycle of local poverty. The nonprofit offers programs in the arts, sciences, leadership, entrepreneurship, and wellness at no cost to the girls or their families.

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Carnegie Deli experience will be located at 201 Lafayette Place in Nolita. The pop-up will be open Dec. 1-8, daily from 11:30am-8pm. For more information, and to reserve a table, visit homeofthemaisel.com.
