Popular Theatre Troupe 'Mummenschanz' Returns to NYC After 4 Years

“The Musicians of Silence” will put on just 20 performances this summer.


Mummenschanz, the renowned international sensation known as "The Musicians of Silence," will return to the New York City stage for the first time in nearly four years with a new show "You & Me," according to a press release. The new show was created by Mummenschanz co-founder Floriana Frasetto and will play at The Gerald W. Lynch Theater at John Jay College.

The world-renowned company uses a unique blend of mime, dance, and puppetry to tell a captivating story that’s fun for the whole family. In addition to new sketches, the forthcoming show will feature popular bits from past performances.

"They call themselves 'Musicians of Silence,' and they truly are," said WQXR Radio in a press release. "Performing in silence and using the power of the visual to capture the human spirit with fantastical shapes and creatres that are both funny and astoundingly creative."



The troupe will run just 20 performances from July 4 to July 22, with preview performances scheduled to begin on Wednesday July 4 at 3pm. Opening night is scheduled for July 10 at 8pm. Regular performances will take place Tuesday through Saturday at 8pm, with matinees on Saturday and Sunday at 3pm.

Ticket prices can be purchased online at the Mummenschanz website or at ovationtix.com. Special holiday ticket prices range from $29 to $49 on July 4 at 3pm, July 5 at 8pm, and July 6 at 8pm. Tickets can also be purchased by calling 866-811-4111.
