Park Shore Country Day Camp Will Host Dance Extravaganza for Rachel's Dance for a Cure Foundation

Rachel's Dance for the Cure Foundation will host its first annual Dance Extravaganza on July 27 at Park Shore Country Day Camp. The event will honor the memory of Rachel Antorino, a 14-year-old girl from Commack who passed away in August 2018 after battling AML Leukemia for 20 months. Her mom, family, and friends started Rachel's Dance for the Cure Foundation to celebrate Rachel's love of dance, and Park Shore Day Camp, where Rachel had spent summers since she was a little girl, offered to host the first annual Dance Extravaganza.

The Dance Extravaganza will run from 11am-3pm at Park Shore and include a variety of activities for everyone to celebrate Rachel. Festivities will include dancing, games, raffles, a ropes course, a bungee trampoline, a rock wall, a Ninja Warrior obstacle course, tattoos, face painting, and food. Tickets are $10 in advance, $12 at the door.

Rachel’s Dance for the Cure Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, was established on October 5, 2018. It was created in Rachel’s honor to raise awareness for pediatric cancer. The financial and emotional stress cancer causes families can be overwhelming, and the foundation aims to help families in need while ensuring that more research can be done to find a cure.
