9 Subscriptions Offering Free or Discounted Boxes for Family Fun

Subscription boxes for kids offer lots of at-home activities for your kids during a time of social distancing. Here are some that are offering deals.

For most of us, it's only the first week of social distancing due to the Coronavirus national emergency, and you might already be running out of engaging indoor activities for the kids.  There are only so many games of Monopoly and Scattergories you can play in a row and you certainly don't want to rely solely on screen time activities. Luckily, some of our favorite kid-approved subscription services are offering discounted or even free boxes to help families stay sane, have fun, and continue to learn new things during this unprecedented time.

Kidstir

In an effort to help families affected by Coronavirus continue to try new things and build new life skills, Kidstir is giving away 5,000 free cooking kits, beginning with Soup's On. Recipes for Oodles of Noodles, Pizza Soup, and Cheesy Broccoli Bowls; Giraffe Chopsticks and a Turtle Grater; a Soup Word Scramble; and six pages of learning games and activities like Make Your Own Bread Bowl and How to Use Chopsticks will be included in the free kit. Visit the Kidstir website to get your free kit

Raddish Kids

The kids culinary subscription service is offering 25,000  more free kits (on top of the original 25,000 they already gave out!) You can sign up on the Raddish Kids website to receive a free cooking kit on Thursday, March 19 at 9am.  Raddish Kids just asks that parents cover $4 shipping costs.  In the mean time, Raddish Kids has lots of free online content including a virtual cooking camp, recipes your kids can make with pantry staples, and learning extensions across science, geography, language arts, and more.

Little Sous

Little Sous, a monthly, screen free, hands-on cooking club for kids, offers lessons, recipes, food science, creative activities, stickers, posters, games, puzzles, and so much more. In an effort to step up for families affected by the Coronavirus, it is offering a free digital download of one of its kits, Cheese: The Grate Adventure, through the end of April. This kit offers 6-8 hours of STEAM, language arts, and social studies activities through a cooking lens. Download your digital kit here and keep an eye on the Little Sous Instagram for 20 days of activities.
