5 Reasons Why We Love Bayville

5 Reasons Why We Love Bayville

Add this small waterside village to your family's must-visit list

Growing up on Long Island, Bayville was always just a short drive away. My parents would take my sister and me there for an exciting day with the family. There are so many things to do, eat, and see, which is why I love it so much. You can never go wrong spending a day in Bayville with your family.

Here are 5 reasons why…

The Thrills

There is a ton to do in Bayville, but nothing beats the excitement of an adventure park. Bayville Adventure Park is the perfect place to enjoy an exhilarating day for the whole family. This seaside adventure park has many attractions, such as its bumper boat safari, bungee bounce dome, indoor rock climbing, the lost temple forgotten maze, and more. You can’t go wrong with spending a day at the pirate-themed mini-golf course and continuing your adventure by searching for treasure at the Tomb Stone Treasure Hunt. From mid-September through early November, it turns into the Halloween-themed Bayville Scream Park with attractions such as the Temple of Terror and Uncle Needle’s Funhouse of Fear in 3-D. The day after Thanksgiving, it becomes Bayville Winter Wonderland, at which you can meet Santa, see a light show, explore the Mystery Fun House and Mirror Maze, and more. The parks also have an arcade and restaurants where you can grab a bite to eat.

The Beaches

If you’ve ever been to Bayville, you know there is always a beach close-by, which is definitely a reason to visit. Enjoy a day on the sand at Ransom Beach, and catch a glimpse of the scenic view of Connecticut across the water. Admission is free, but there is a parking fee. If you need a break from the sun, grab a bite at one the restaurants across the street. There are many other beaches in Bayville, some private and some public, at which you can walk around and enjoy the feeling of the sand between your toes. At the end of the day, enjoy the view of a beautiful sunset over the sound.

The Exciting Water Activities

We all know how hot the summer weather can be. What better way to spend a hot day then on the water? If you’re in the mood to go kayaking or for a boat ride, but don’t own either, Bridge Marina makes it possible for you. You can either rent a boat or a kayak for an exciting and adventurous day on the water. There are multiple boat options to choose from (half- or full-day rentals are available) whether you want to spend your day fishing or spend your day cruising in one of the powerboats. You also have the option to rent a one-person or two-person kayak. There’s no better way to soak up some sun than at Bridge Marina.

The Walkable Community

One of the best parts of Bayville is that you can walk all over town. The Bayville Bridge, a drawbridge that connects Mill Neck to Bayville, attracts visitors to Bayville Avenue and the downtown of this community. With the bridge, people can walk from residential areas to restaurants in town. Whether you decide to walk or drive, you won’t regret seeing the picturesque view of the sound and all that Bayville has to offer.

The Tasty Restaurants

All of the restaurants in Bayville are fantastic. One popular restaurant is Mill Creek Tavern. If you’re in the mood for American food or a nice steak, this is the place to go. Enjoy a delicious meal and watch the sunset at Wall’s Wharf, which has been in Bayville for over 60 years, with outdoor seating that serves American food and seafood. For a great meal with an incredible view of the Long Island Sound, eat at Ocean Restaurant, for seafood or American food on Bayville Avenue. No matter what you are in the mood for, Bayville’s got you covered with a wide-range of cuisines and options from which to choose.
