    5 Fun Election Day Events for Kids in Connecticut

    Wondering what to do with your kids when they're out of school on Nov. 6 for Election Day? Here are 5 fun activities in Fairfield County, CT, including museum, outdoor, and art center events in Fairfield, New Canaan, Stamford, and Westport.

     

    Fairfield

    Vote for your favorite critter at the Connecticut Audubon Society’s Animal Election. FREE, but donations are appreciated.

    Learn about the historic 1864 re-election of Lincoln through drawings, posters, and cartoons from that era in Election Day: 1864 at the Fairfield Museum and History Center. Draw your own political cartoon, write and deliver a speech in 19th-century style, and try out a scavenger hunt in the galleries.

    During Awesome Autumn Day at the New Canaan Nature Center, kids can jump around in New Canaan’s largest leaf pile along with special guests like Leaf Bag Man and the NCNC Chicken. Plus, fly through the air on a zipline and enjoy the Children’s Play Garden and fall games.



     

    Stamford

    Shake hooves with some of the candidates at Stamford Museum and Nature Center’s Fall Break Out Day: Election on the Farm. Will Lulu and Pippa the piglets reclaim their crown or be edged out by Dakota the Clydesdale?

    Kids can spend the day off using their imagination at Election Day Workshop: Radical Robots at the Westport Arts Center.
