Soccer Friends USA, which aims to build a lifelong enjoyment of sports and physical activity in children of all ages, is scheduled to launch its futsal weekend program in January 2015 to continue encouraging active lifestyles even when outdoor play is unavailable. It also added its after-school program to the regular lineup of classes in early September after a trial run last year.

Futsal is a South American, indoor version of soccer and is an extension of Soccer Friends USA’s regular skills club programming. The futsal program will run for 10 weeks for children age 5 and older. Sessions are available Saturdays and Sundays from 10am-1pm from January-March. Deadline for enrollment is Dec. 1.

Soccer Friends USA invites children on teams to join the program to play indoor soccer during the winter months.

Soccer Afternoons Club is an after-school program for children in kindergarten through fifth grade. The club offers pick-up services from schools, snack time, homework help, and instruction in soccer skills as well as fitness, team building activities, and soccer fun gymnastics. Free pick-up services are available to children attending P.S. 101 in Forest Hills and Our Lady Queen of Martyrs School in Forest Hills.

The after-school program is available one to five days a week, Monday-Friday from 3:15-6:15pm. Pick-up services begin at 2:40pm. Soccer Afternoons Club is open for enrollment while space is available.
