Families Can Enjoy Re-Opened Wollman Rink NYC with Discounted Tickets

Central Park's famous ice rink opens under new management this month and offers discounted tickets and free tickets on opening day

A popular winter activity is now more accessible to kids and families throughout New York City. To celebrate its grand re-opening on Nov. 14, Wollman Rink NYC just launched its Wollman Rink Access Program, offering discounted tickets to the famous Wollman ice-skating rink in Central Park.

According to a press release, renovations and construction are currently underway to transform the rink into a “best-in-class public space” in time for its re-opening. New features include an entirely new clubhouse, gift shop and restored trellis, public Wi-Fi, a new kitchen, and more.

Discounted Tickets to Wollman Rink NYC

Adult general admission tickets for the rink during peak hours are traditionally $23, plus $11 to rent skates. But WRAP tickets will cost $14 across the board regardless of peak hours or ages. Each ticket includes admission, skate rental, and a hot chocolate. Guests must show their ID NYC or New York Public Library card to receive the discounted tickets. There is a limited number of tickets available each month, so they are given out on a first-come, first-serve basis.

The rink, previously owned by the Trump Organization, is under new management by Wollman Park Partners.

“When Wollman Park Partners became the new operator of Wollman Rink NYC, we pledged to make this rink accessible to everyone. The Wollman Rink Access Program is a major step in the right direction to realizing this goal,” said Stefanie Tomlin, general manager of Wollman Rink NYC. “We will continue working with our community partners and local organizations to design creative ways to ensure that Wollman Rink NYC is truly for everyone to enjoy.”

Free Wollman Rink Tickets on Opening Day

The rink is having a grand re-opening ceremony for the public when it opens for the season on Sunday, Nov. 14, at 12pm. Anyone who wants to ice-skate can score free tickets to enjoy the rink after the ceremony, with timed entries between 3-8pm. The free tickets will be available on the website starting Nov. 12 at 10am. (NOTE: Reserved time slots and quantities are subject to availability.)
