PDM Family Dental Opens in Jericho

In September, PDM Family Dental opened its doors in Jericho. The brand-new facility is family friendly and features televisions so patients, especially children, can watch something while they are being seen. Services include Invisalign, digital x-rays that expose patients to less radiation, emergency walk--ins, cleanings, exams, and fillings.

PDM sees patients ages two and older and provides information on oral health for children as young as one. The practice is owned and managed by Dr. Parul D. Makkar, D.D.S., and mother of two.

"A lot of patients have phobias of dentists because they had some horror story as a child," says Dr. Makkar. "I'm hoping that I can instill something good in the kids early on that makes the visit fun. For example, when we're going up and down the chair, we're going on a ride! I want to make it a pleasant experience so it's not daunting and they don't avoid care as an adult."
