Westchester's A-Game Sports Welcomes New Director of Basketball Programming

William Council, known as “Coach Billy,” joined the team this month as the Director of Basketball Programming and Operations. He plans to bring a broad spectrum of basketball programming, training and playing opportunities to children and athletes of all ages in Westchester, New York City, and surrounding communities in January of 2019.

A-Game Sports, located in New Rochelle, NY, is an instructional and recreational youth sports programming company. It aims “to make athletics an awarding experience for all kids, irrespective of skill level, financial resources or motivation for playing the sports.”

Some of these new offerings will include private training, conditioning/fitness, tournament and travel teams, after-school skills clinics, in-house development league, seasonal basketball leagues, and summer and school holiday camps.

Coach Billy not only has a passion for basketball, but also has a passion for working with children, teens, and young adults. In 2012, he co-founded and became athletic director for the New Renaissance Basketball Association, where he trained some of New York City’s most sought after basketball stars. He has also served as the assistant athletic director and assistant varsity boys basketball coach at Bishop Loughlin High School in Brooklyn, from 2014-2018.

All of A-Game Sports staff members know the value and impact that sports plays in a child’s physical and emotional development. They take pride in knowing that their programs teach children valuable life skills and principles that can be applied later on in their lives.
