Six Flags Fright Fest Returns This Year With More Fall Fun

The theme park will host an array of new fall activities for kids and families to enjoy

Fright Fest is back to delight Halloween fans at Six Flags Great Adventure this year. In addition to the annual spooky fest, the Jackson, NJ, theme park will host an array of fall activities for kids and families to enjoy.

“Our focus on food, entertainment and unique experiences will give guests both young and old something exciting to look forward to each time they visit,” Gabriel Darretta, public relations supervisor at the park, said.

What To Expect at Six Flags Fright Fest 2022

Fright Fest will run Sept. 16-Oct. 31 on Fridays, weekends and Halloween Day. Most of Fright Fest is free with park admission.

The event is fun for all ages, but parents should use their discretion when bringing younger children and toddlers. Daytime is more family-friendly and considered appropriate for kids, though there are no age restrictions for attending the event at any time of day.

Night-time activities include the ghoul parade (a fan favorite), live stage shows, terrifying scare zones, plus six haunted houses designed for ultimate scare and Halloween.

More Fall Events at Six Flags

Additional events are planned throughout the season. The park will host the new Kid's Boo Fest on weekends, Sept. 17-Oct. 30. Free with park admission, families and kids of all ages will enjoy Halloween activities, entertainment, trick-or-treat trails and other experiences the park describes as “not-so-scary.”

Another new event at the park is Oktoberfest, running on select days Sept.17 -Oct. 30, from open to close. Park officials said this family-friendly German heritage festival will become a new fall tradition at Six Flags. It will feature authentic fare and a large selection of seasonal craft lagers and beers from around the world.

Holiday in the Park will be later in the year, Nov. 23-Jan. 1. Guests will view millions of dazzling lights and enjoy festive treats, a holiday entertainment lineup and visits with Santa.

This year, Six Flags is offering daily tickets for kids shorter than 48” that can be purchased for one price of $39.99 through all of Fright Fest, Boo Fest and Oktoberfest.
